An ultrasonic plastic welding machine employs high-frequency sound waves, typically ranging from 15kHz to 40kHz, to join thermoplastic materials. The ultrasonic vibrations cause molecular friction at the welding interface, generating heat and melting the plastic. As the plastic cools, the polymer chains interlock, forming a strong bond.
Key components include an ultrasonic generator, transducer, horn, and control system.
